e2e Materials of Ithica, New York, has announced a biodegradable composite which is made completely of plant materials and which can, at least in concept, be used to make skateboards. California Increases Child Safety, Removes Freedom
Always the leader in restrictive legislation, the state of California *, led by Governer Grey Davis, has passed a law which requires all children under the age of 18 to wear a helmet at all times while riding a skateboard, scooter or inline skate. "Maryland * and Rhode Island * have helmet laws for children under 16 who ride scooters or in-line skate. New York and New Jersey laws apply only to children under 14. California, 12 other states and the District of Columbia * have helmet laws for bike riders only." Skateboard Carrying Outlawed in New Jersey City?
At a time when many towns are building skateboard parks, the Cape May, New Jersey City Council plans to ban the mere possession of the boards in some public areas. Without taking comments from their constituents, the council unanimously introduced an ordinance that makes it illegal to 'possess, park or stand, carry or transport,' any skateboard at some public places within the city. Untitled Skateboard Art Show at Eyejammie, NYC, April 12-May 5, 2007
The Eyejammie Fine Arts Gallery has teamed with Consolidated Skateboards and other companies to put on "Untitled: An Exhibition of Original Skateboard Art" at the gallery's location at 516 West 25th Street in New York City.
