Skateboard Helmet Law Passes In New York- For Kids
New York State's politicians have been accused of leaving most major legislative business unfinished this year. But they did accomplish one thing: passing a law requiring skaters under 14 to wear helmets while riding skateboards in public areas. Josh Rabinowitz, publisher of SkateboardDirectory.com, said he saw the law as chipping away at civil liberties and parents' rights to raise their children as they want to, and that the law was just another way for government to raise revenue, "like all of these ticketing laws that are supposedly for our safety." Harold Hunter, Zoo York Skateboard Pro, Dies at 31
The skateboard community is saddened by the passing of Harold Hunter *, who was probably best known for his involvement with Zoo York Skateboards, Rockstar Bearings *, and his role of "Harold" in the 1995 * movie "Kids". Harold was "an original Zoo Yorker and ambassador representing NYC the world around," read a statement on Zoo York's website. "Harold Hunter will be deeply missed...
