Slam City Jam Skateboard Event in Calgary, August 2006

After 12 years in Vancouver *, Slam City Jam has announced that their next event will occur in Calgary *, August 25-27, 2006. Organizers expect that more than 150 of the world’s top professional skateboarders will be there to compete for over $100,000 in prize money. Skateboard Carrying Outlawed in New Jersey City?

At a time when many towns are building skateboard parks, the Cape May, New Jersey * City Council plans to ban the mere possession of the boards in some public areas. Without taking comments from their constituents, the council unanimously introduced an ordinance that makes it illegal to 'possess, park or stand, carry or transport,' any skateboard at some public places within the city. A public hearing on the ordinance is set for 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, 643 Washington * St., Cape May, New Jersey on Tuesday, December 16. (Full Article) Search *

Skate park proposed for city of Rowlett, Texas
