this last season, i got several emails from kids who were looking for the rube 155, a deck from 2 seasons ago. these kids didn't shred (yet), they were just fans of David Barnes, the artist behind the graphic. then a couple days ago, some dude on the street in government camp was telling me how he grew up with Ferris Plock, the artist behind the Ferris 150. Joe P and Justin Lovato have been keeping themselves busy. Homies in the know will head over to Heritage in Roseville this Saturday to peep some kicks by Toms customized by the boys. One thing that stokes me out about summers at Hood is seeing the level of dedication. Driving cross country to live in a tent in the woods. Hiking the mile up. Living out of your car. One of Automaton's Japan agents, Taka, was supposed to meet up with us at Hood this weekend. However, an injury to the face which requires surgery thwarted the plans. Ok, just got back to California 20 hours ago. SE Asia was awesome. Indo waves were the most consistent I've ever experienced. Vietnam is beautiful. And Thailand is off the hook. When I'm not lagging on the updates, I've been busy getting all the Automaton production stuff ready to move over the summer, hanging out at Davis, and getting summer plans locked down. We're taking Automaton to the next level! When Tahoe resorts have shut down and snow is going away, Liz and Joe play doctor instead of play snowboarding.
