MIKI VUCKOVICH
Growing up on 70s rock and firing off some snapshots at a stadium show (Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick, AC/DC) just before his tenth birthday, Miki Vuckovich transitioned into the new wave and punk cultures that correlated with his teen years. When he took up drums with North County's Perdition in 1982, he also began taking photo courses in high school, skateboarding and punk bands becoming his earliest subjects.
Since then, Miki's images have appeared in various skateboarding and music magazines (TransWorld SKATEboarding, WARP, Thrasher, BAM, Flipside) on album covers (Rocket from the Crypt's Scream, Dracula, Scream!, Tanner's debut) and with band press materials (Drive Like Jehu, Less Than Jake), and he continues to shoot both local and visiting artists that demonstrate a fresh approach to their craft (Hot Snakes, Uz Jsme Doma, Trans Am) and offer viewers/listeners something they haven’t experienced before. He continues to work in skateboarding media, though these days his focus is on video production. He currently works at 411VM Productions as an associate producer for ON Video Skateboarding.
