The 2004 * Midwest Melee, is scheduled to take place at the 3rd Lair in Minneapolis, Minnesota *. The contest takes place on Sunday, August 1st starting at 10:30AM, with competitions in 3 divisions: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Reportedly the winner 'goes to the Gravity Games * in Cleveland, Ohio *'. World Conspiracy Skateboards * announced their 3rd annual "No Shade In Sight" contest, to take place the the Huntsville Public Skatepark * in Alabama *, with registration starting at 12 noon July 31st, and the contest beginning at 1PM. Intermediate and Advanced categories of competition are planned as well as a Best Trick Contest. Organizers report that $1,000 in prizes and giveaways will be disbursed, and there is absolutely no entrance fee nor spectator fee-- the event is free. According to Skate One *, Bones Wheel has introduced new Pros Jesse Paez * and Greg Lutkza to their Team! Also added the the Bones Amateur roster were Andrew Cannon and Oliver Buchanan *.
Mathias Ringstrom * is stunt doubling for ex-Beverly Hills 90210 front man Luke Perry for undisclosed reasons. Chris Senn * proves he's still the man by winning "The Cradle" contest recently held in Austria *. In other news, Senn dog and family are packing their bags and moving to Hawaii *. All photographers take note working on a Senn interview = trip to Hawaii! Malcolm Watson is at Woodward * East Skate Camp * helping spread the gospel of skateboarding to the next generation. Dayne Brummet * skated to a solid 2nd place in Montpellier, France *.

According to Syndrome Distribution *, internal changes there have resulted in Rob Mertz officially taking over the reins as President, with "fellow east coaster" Mark Wiehl filling the role as director of marketing, and skate legend Dave Andrecht as director of sales. Former pro skaters Jason Maxwell and Brian Young will maintain the team manager positions with a supporting cast including James Riff (videographer), Matt Mecaro (photographer) and a host of sales and marketing staff. With these changes comes Syndrome's newest company "HellRose", featuring: Don "the nuge" Nguyen, Justin Roy, James Atkin, Richie Belton and D.J. Chavez. Hellrose decks, wheels *, apparel and accessories are scheduled to turn up the shelves in skateshops everywhere starting September.
In other Syndrome news, Gershon Mosley * has joined the dis-establishment of INC skateboards and has a limited edition deck available now that comes with a free dvd entitled "Bliss." The company also reports that finishing touches are being put on the FKD Bearings * video which features Paul Rodriguez *, Daewon Song *, Greg Lutzka * and more, and will be hitting stores in early September. The company also reports that Paul Rodriguez's Silver commercial can be seen in 411 #66, which will be on sale September.
