Bahne, the same company that brought you the Bahne-Cadillac Del Mar Nationals in 1975, has waited almost thirty years to put on their next contest.
According to organizers, the Bahne SlalomCross, which takes place at Paso Robles, California * on April 12th, 2003 * "is the first race
of it's kind... a combination of dual slalom *, dual giant
slalom and two-man downhill *. We're calling it
SLALOMCROSS".
The course will total almost 1100' in length and be set with approximately 60 cones. According to Bahne, practice times have
ranged from 44 to 55 seconds, and "the course surface
is rated 6/7 on a scale of 10. "
Hay bales will be set in
critical sections for the obvious reasons.
This event is open to the first 60 competitors to cough up $100 for the entry fee, and prize money will be paid to
the first through fourth place winners. The first place purse will be a minimum of $1,000. No entries will be accepted the day of the race.
