FIRST ANNUAL EXTREME ACTION SPORTS ANNOUNCES INTERACTIVE EVENTS AT CONSUMER EXPO

Conference Taking Place at Long Beach Convention Center Friday, June 21 - Sunday, June 23

Long Beach, CA (June 17, 2002) – The first annual Extreme Action Sports (EAS) consumer expo which will be held June 21-23, announces interactive elements and show highlights. EAS will feature an incredible variety of sports, including such popular activities as skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, wakeboarding, freestyle * motocross, street luge, mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing, all-terrain boarding and more. With over 224,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor exhibit space, the show floor has been divided into four major sports groups: city, snow, mountain and water. All events will be happening Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the show unless otherwise noted.

Schedule of Events:

* Pro Skate Demos and Clinics

X-Games * and Gravity Games * Gold Medalist and top-rated pro skateboarder Bob Burnquist will hold private clinics for the charity organization ‘Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles * and the Inland Empire’. Bring your skateboard and join Bob, Mike Crum, Todd Richards, Danny Way, Jen O’Brien and other pro athletes providing demonstrations and clinics while raising money for ‘Big Brothers Big Sisters in the "World’s Largest Tip Jar". Inline pros will also be conducting demos and clinics. Ramps are sponsored by Hurley International * and Ramp Logic *.

- Inline Street Clinics: Friday, 4 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, 1 p.m. -1:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

- Skateboarding Street Clinics: Friday, 4:40 p.m. - 5:10 p.m., 8:05 p.m. - 8:35 p.m.; Saturday, 1:40 p.m.- 2:10 p.m., 7:10 p.m. - 7:40 p.m.; Sunday, 11:40 a.m. - 12:10 p.m.

- Bob Burnquist Inline and Skate Demo: Sunday, 1:30 p.m. – 1:50 p.m., 3:20 p.m. – 3:40 p.m.

- Inline and Skateboarding Pro Demos: Friday, 6:30 p.m. - 6:50 p.m., 8:40 p.m. - 9 p.m.; Saturday, 3:30 p.m. - 3:50 p.m., 5:40 p.m. - 6 p.m.

- Bob Burnquist Street Clinic: Sunday, 5 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

* Freestyle Motocross Demo Shane Trittler of Hungry Valley Motocross and the Death Riders will demo their wildest freestyle motocross tricks in demonstrations. Former IFMA champion and 2001 * X-games contender, Jake Windham, will be doing freestyle motocross demonstrations on Saturday. Motocross track is sponsored by XXX starring Vin Diesel in theaters August 9th.

- Death Rider Demos: Saturday, 11 a.m. - 11:20 a.m., 2 p.m. - 2:20 p.m., 5 p.m. - 5:20 p.m., 8 p.m. - 8:20 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. - 11:20 a.m., 2 p.m. -2:20 p.m., 4:30 p.m. - 4:50 p.m.

* Pro Kayakers WaveBox Demo Stop by the Confluence WaveSport booth to see some of today’s prominent kayakers demo in the 22,000 gallon WaveBox. This is a one-of-a-kind tank designed specifically for kayaking only! Demonstrations will be held throughout the show.

* Open Skate Sessions * Come show off your latest tricks. Our 12,000 square foot skate park will be open for public sessions as follows:

- Open Skate: Friday, 5:20 p.m. - 6:20 p.m., 7 p.m. - 8 p.m.; Saturday, 2:20 p.m. - 3:20 p.m., 4:10 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.; Sunday, 12:20 p.m. -1:20 p.m., 2:10 p.m. - 3:10 p.m., 3:50 p.m. - 4:50 p.m., 5:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.

* Conquer the Rockwall! Race up to the top of the rockwall provided by Rockreation and Quantum Rock. Professional climbers will be there to educate both beginning and experienced climbers on the do’s and don’ts of climbing. The rockwall will be located in the Rockreation booth and will be open throughout the show.

* Danny Bonaduce of Star 98.7 and NBC’s "The Other Half" Join Danny as he opens the show, climbs the rockwall, skates the street course, learns tricks on the vert ramp * and takes on the WaveBox in a kayak. Friday, 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.

* Mountainboard * Park MBS, the leader in mountainboard equipment, presents the MBS Interactive Zone, a mountainboarding area with 4’ and 6’ ramps, a "kicker ramp," and 12 to 18 new mountainboards for consumers to test ride.

* BZ Bodyboard Team Kyle Maligro, Josh Wills and Joe Grodzen will be on-hand at the BX Bodyboard Booth throughout the show.

* Syndrome Skateboarding Team Syndrome, a leading distributor in skateboards, trucks * and bearings *, will feature riders Dylan Gardner, John Buchanan and Nate Roemer.

Admission to Extreme Action Sports is $15. Tickets are available at the box office. Children under 4 are free. Coupons for $5 off are available at Val Surf and select retailers.
