After a quick run-through of the fingerboard fundamentals, such as how to ride and stop, you get a crash course in board-care basics, such as changing your wheels and telling the difference between a deck and a truck. (This is pretty important, since your board comes with extra wheels, hardware, and cool mini skate tools.) With that out of the way, it's on to the tricks: the ollie, the boardslide, grinding a lip, the crooked grind, the tailslide, the whirlybird, the 5-0 grind, and the skate flip. Clear diagrams and simple instructions make it all seem easy, with each trick building on the skills learned from the one before it.
A note to all pro fingerboarders: If you're already doing superadvanced tricks like the stalefish and the pop-tart, you should be writing books like this, not reading them. (Ages 8 and older) --Paul Hughes
