Dave Cornthwaite has broken the previous distance skateboarding record by one kilometer, completing his 4831km ride in 5 months. Active Ride Shop and Mail Order has announced that they will no longer carry blank decks starting January 1st, 2007. Also, Vans * shoes, now owned by conglomerate VF Outdoor, has turned 40 years old. The shoes have enjoyed a long assocation with the core skateboard market and at least one pair was designed by Tony Alva * and Stacy Peralta *.
