There's a new "Super Bowl" in Angmering, England *, which locals say is "probably the best one around". Tracy Park in Northbrook, Canada * has also opened in memory of local skater Trace Yeoh, who died of cancer this May. St. Lucie, Florida * also opened a 15,000-square-foot new skatepark built by Team Pain * and funded by the town to the tune of $500,000.

Skateparks * in Development In the USA *

West Oakland, California * is getting a skatepark organized by Keith Williams, the founder of the Hood Games, who is also known as "KDub". The park is being built at deFremery Park in West Oakland. Reportedly the ciy has secured about $30,000 in funding, and Williams himself has backed the project "to the tune of $15,000". Newport, Virginia * is planning a city-owned skatepark which will most likely be discussed by the City in November. Little Butte Oregon * is also planning a skatepark, and Wal-Mart presented the city with $1200 towards its development. Whitman, Massachusetts * is also planning a skatepark whose funding was in jeopardy but now seems secure -- the park could be open by the end of this summer.

Skateparks in Development In Canada: Nova Scotia is planning a new skateboard park in Annapolis Royal at a cost of about $195,000: "The design is underway and the location is secure; we just need money," Andre Bouchard, county active living co-ordinator. The city of Portage in Manitoba County, Canada is also planning a "semi-permanent" skatepark, (meaning it will be closed over the winter). Victoria *, Canada is planning a park in the former Tobique Valley Centennial Arena site in Plaster Rock, tentatively named Centennial Fun Park. Saint John, Canada is also about to begin construction on their first "professional" skatepark, expected to cost $607,000. Pembroke, Canada is also planning to move the temporary park in that town to a site in Coronation park.
