According to a press release from Spin Master Studios, the "Tech Deck * Live" virtual world will go online this summer. Based on the Tech Deck line of fingerboards, the site is slated to allow players to virtually skate for free online against thousands of other players. The site is expected to use ordinary web browsers to deliver an "immersive 3D gaming experience" in the form of a huge, sprawling series of skateparks *.
"We are excited about combining the authenticity and fun of Tech Deck with the immersiveness of virtual worlds, providing a truly unique online experience for kids," said John Reale, Vice President of Spin Master Studios.
Apparently Tech Deck Live will be free for basic use, but monthly subscribers will be able to access "premium content" such as their own virtual rooms.
