According to Ian Nichols, the semi-annual central park longboard * race is scheduled to go on tomorrow, June 2nd 2007, weather permitting. If it is raining hard Saturday morning, then the rain date is set for June 3rd.

The event synchronizes when everyone meets at the southwest-most corner of Central Park, at the corner of Central Park South and Central Park West, at the main monument. Since 2003 * the contest has been typically won by Kaspar.

At the end of the race trophies will be distributed and the group intends to skate up to the boat house for some beverages and socializing.

Also scheduled for June 2nd 2007 is the Earthwing Skateboard East Coast Powerslide Jam in the Cloisters in New York *'s Fort Tryon Park, which begins at midnight. For more info on the Powerslide Jam, call 718-595-2007
