Powell * Skateboards In The News
First the Travel Channel's Made In America show did a feature on Powell Skateboards this summer, and now the Discovery Channel's, Pop Nation has indicated would like to do a feature on Powell Skateboards.

In addition, report indicate that Extreme Sports Channel will be showing The Search for Animal Chin, Bones Brigade Video Show and Future Primitive starting in November. The shows should be broadcast in countries and areas including Austria *, Belgium *, Belarus *, Bulgaria *, Czech * Republic, Croatia *, Denmark *, Estonia *, Finland *, France *, Greece *, Germany * Hungary *, Israel * (including Occupied and Arab territories), Iceland *, Italy *, Lithuania *, Latvia, Malta, Norway *, Netherlands *, Poland, Portugal *, Russia *, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia *, Spain *, Sweden *, Switzerland *, UK * & Ireland *, Turkic Countries, Ukraine *, Algeria *, Bahrain *, Chad, Egypt *, India *, Iran *, Iraq *, Jordan, Kuwait *, Lebanon *, Libya *, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Oman, Palestine *, Qatar, Saudi Arabia *, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates *, West African * Countries, Yemen *, and Southern Africa.
George Powell was quoted in a October 28th story in the Philadelphia * Inquirer about skateboard collectors: "The youth of the 1980s embraced skateboarding in a way that turned it into a lifestyle they created themselves, for themselves," says George Powell, "The people who are purchasing our classic '80s decks seem to be primarily skaters from that era. For some, it is a desire to have the deck they rode, and, in other cases, to collect all the decks they remember having liked."
Kevin Harris celebrated his 20th year as a skateboard distributor * this October. In appreciation of all that Kevin and Ultimate Distribution has done for skateboarding, Vernon Courtlandt Johnson and George signed a Powell Peralta re-issue Harris deck and George presented it to Kevin in a custom made framed box.
In Powell skateboards' effort to support public skatepark * building in the U.S., Powell Classic * and Powell Peralta continue to offer a limited amount of select decks for sale by auction. Portions of the proceeds from the auctions go to support public skateparks *. The next signed decks that are up for auction will be the CAB Propeller Skull and the Mike Vallely * Elephant.
Powell Peralta represents products that George and Stacy have agreed to re-issue under that brand name. Powell Classic products represent other products that don't fit in the vision that George and Stacy have for Powell Peralta. Powell Classic also includes larger deck shapes and wheel sizes catering to those skaters that are looking for this type of product.
Do you use Bones Bearings *? If so, you might consider sending a 200 word story to Powell on why you need a free set of Bones Swiss bearings *. The funniest, sob story wins. Check the Powell / Skate One website for details.
