Vancouver *, Canada *-- The Vancouver Park Board is seeking input from Skateboarders in their community as they develop a skateboard strategy in Vancouver.
A key component of the strategy is to "assist with determining new locations for skateboarding in Vancouver."
There are currently six skateboard facilities in Vancouver parks, and most are concentrated in the north-east sector of the city. Existing skate parks include China * Creek South Park, Hastings Park, Strathcona Park, Coopers' Park, Downtown Skateboard Plaza *,and Quilchena Park. China Creek South was built in the late 1970s, all the other skateparks * were built between 2001 * and 2005 *.
Michel Desrochers, Vancouver City Planner, says "We've prepared an online questionnaire and would love it if you could take a couple of minutes to fill it in."
More information about this can be found at http://www.vancouver.ca/parks/info/planning/ skateboard/index.htm
and the questionaire itself can be found at http://www.vancouver.ca/parks/info/planning/ skateboard/questionnaire.shtm
The deadline for filling out this questionaire is Monday, October 24th at 9 am.
Whatever approach is approved by the board will help guide skateboard related decisions in the next decade.
