My skateboard is my toy - it allows me to stay young, even though I'm
not a kid anymore. I have loads of fun when I go sesh spots, parks, or just
street skating. And it doesn't matter if I get frustrated because it only
makes me try harder.
My skateboard is my friend - huh? Yeah, sure, it's true. I've had many
memorable moments that were brought about because of my board. The ones that
last a while become trusted amigos. My skateboard has kept me from wrecking
my body (even more than it already has) numerous times (gaps, stairs, etc.).
The board also has its moments when it slowly spins when it really shouldn't
be spinning and I wind up smacking pavement. It's a love/hate relationship.
My skateboard is my therapy - who needs to spend thousands of dollars on
shrinks when I can have a bummed day and skate hard to relieve the tension
in life. By the time my session is done, I've landed at least one new trick
every time and feel stoked *!
My skateboard has changed my view on the world around me - I go out with
friends and if i'm in the city, I always gaze out at what could be potential
skate spots as we pass by. They don't understand what I'm focusing my
attention on when all they see are stairs and rails and ledges; nothing
special. If only they knew.
These are just some of the reasons why I still ride a skateboard. Search this site for more about Skateboard Toy, Friend, Therapy, Eye Opener * |
