This Snowskate's Got Railz
(Posted 9/19/2005)

By Josh Rabinowitz for SkateboardDirectory.com

Phoenix, Arizona * -- RAILZ, a manufacturer and supplier of skateboard and snowskate products, is introducing a line of snowskates that allow enthusiasts to skate on snow.

This winter, skateboard and snowboard shops will begin introducing RAILZ, "The Snowskate that skates" and allows skateboarders to ride and do tricks on the snow like they do on the street, with "zero * learning curve".

The company claims that the RAILZ snowskate is different than snowboarding or other snowskates because it uses "standard skateboard trucks * with four skis instead of wheels *," which allow the board to skate on snow "just like a skateboard on pavement."

On each side of each of the 4 ski assemblies are Stainless Steel carving rails. Since the skis sit on traditional skateboard trucks you can "lean the board and it turns in that direction".

The RAILZ system is offered as an assembled short board or long board, and is also available as a conversion kit that turns your deck and trucks into a snowskate.

The short board is a 32" Tech board for "street and vert-type skating" and "can ollie, kick-flip, grind and board slide just like their wheeled cousins".

The long board is a 46" cruiser "intended for bombing and carving down anything from packed snow-covered streets to runs at your favorite ski resort. "

The conversion kit allows you to convert your own skateboard into a RAILZ snowskate just by replacing the wheels with RAILZ skis.

Railz was founded in 2005 * and is currently accepting orders from U.S. and Canada * only.
