If you know anyone in Orange County * who missed STOKED * when it made its theatrical debut, Thursday, May 12th is another chance to see it on the big screen!
"Stoked: The Rise and Fall of Gator *" will screen as part of the "Orange Crush" event series at the Orange County Museum of Art, Thursday May 12 at 6:30.
The gallery is open with the acclaimed "Beautiful Losers" exhibit, the VANS * team will skate a halfpipe * in the gallery courtyard, and the band Silver Sunshine performs after the movie. Admission is free and will be a cash bar.
The movie was recently reviewed Orange County Weekly review by Matt Coker, who said that Stoked "provides the complete picture of celebrity-skate culture that skate vids, Jackass *, Viva la Bam, documentaries like Dogtown and Z-boys * or its upcoming fictional bastard cousin Lords of Dogtown * do not."
Evening schedule for Thursday May 12 2005 *:
6pm - VANS skate team demo
6:30pm - Film screening of Stoked followed by filmmaker Q & A with Helen Stickler, in auditorium
8:15pm live performance by Silver Sunshine in the museum's main gallery.
