One month before the video of the Globe * 2005 * World Cup Skateboarding * goes on sale through normal channels, TotalVid * will be distributing photos and videos of the event.
"TotalVid is inviting everyone to come out and participate in this unique mega event to celebrate one of Globe's biggest movies of the year," said Karl Quist, General Manager of TotalVid. "If a photo is worth a thousand words, for all those that wished they could have gone to Australia * for the event but couldn't, this video is worth a million."
The filmed event, which took place in Melbourne, Australia *, includes competition skateboarders skating, partying, and performing various mayhem. Featuring a total prize pool of $82,000 (presumably in Australian * dollars) and a "progressive street course", the event was open only to invited participants.
Last year's event reportedly sold out, and this year's event featured skater Ryan Sheckler * among its ranks, and also played host to the seventh annual Gallaz * Skate Jam featuring female skateboarders. Gallaz claims to be the "only global girls' skate series".
"Combining our efforts with TotalVid marketing extended our reach beyond our core audience," said Brett Hardy, Executive Producer of the Globe World Cup Skateboarding video.
