Seoul, Korea *: The X Games, which some call the "world’s signature action sports competition", will make its South Korean * debut when the City of Seoul will host the Asian X Games, May 26 – 29 2005 *.

The event is intended to gather more than 250 of Asia *’s leading actions sports athletes to compete for more than US $110,000 in prize money, medals, and bragging rights as the best in all of Asia. The competition course will once again feature the perennial favorites of Skateboarding, In-line Skating, Bicycle Stunt, Sport Climbing, Wakeboarding and a Moto X demonstration.

The event's main sponsor is Kia, and additional support is said to come from the Korea National Tourism Organization and local broadcasters MBC-ESPN * and MBC. The event is promoted and organized in Asia by ESPN Inc. and ESPN STAR Sports.

“The X Games are a worldwide phenomenon,” said Russell Wolff, managing director of ESPN International. “Fans in Asia have been particularly supportive of the X Games, as we have staged events there since 1998 *. Taking the Asian X Games to Seoul with Kia as a new presenting sponsor is a great step in the development of the franchise.”
