Grasse, France *: Secret Service Style has announced the finalists of their "Skate & Street Graphics" competition.

The design competition was organized in preparation of a book by the same title which will be "devoted to skate graphics and streetwear' and is to be published in November 2004 *.
The competition was open to skaters, 'taggeurs', students in communication and graphics, graphic designers integrated in studios or working as freelance, the "recalcitrant and inspired", and anyone who dreamed to be published on bigger scale.
Submissions to the contest consisted of 4 design pieces: two for apparel, and two for skateboard products.
This competition was designed to act as a springboard to help the artists gain publicity and promote their abilities.
Organizers say that 6000 copies of the book "Skate & Street Graphics" will be distributed to professionals in the textile and communication industries to help them discover these talents.
The competition's jury was reportedly made up of professionals of the skateboard industry include art directors, products managers, and graphic designers from Quiksilver *, Oxbow, Pacific Motion, Motapika and of course some skateboarders.
The contest reportedly received more than 200 submissions from all around the world, from which the jury selected 8 winners, then chose two finalists whose art will be published on tee shirts and skateboards.
The art of all 8 finalists will be published in the book with all their contacts and photos.
The competition was promoted through by various medias such as Agoride and other Internet sites, information provided to art schools, and posters distributed in skateshops.
