Skateboard "Heir Apparent" Pierre Luc Gagnon at Rye Skatepark, Oct 11th 2003
(Posted 10/11/2003)

(By Josh Rabinowitz for SkateboardDirectory.com based on info from Rye Airfield *)

Pierre Luc Gagnon * will be at Rye Airfield Saturday, October 11th 2003 * at 6pm. The 23-year-old Gagnon, also known as PLG *, is regarded by many as one of the finest vert skaters in the world. As Rye Airfield puts it, he's also an arguable "heir apparent" to Tony Hawk * in vertical skateboarding.

Sponsor Osiris Shoes * is arranging PLG's visit to Rye Airfield and encouraging kids to bring their boards and come down to skate with this skate legend. As Rye Airfield puts it, "you don't want to miss the incredible tricks that Gagnon will be pulling on Rye Airfield's gigantic vert half-pipe".

In 2002 * PLG won the X Games gold in both Vert and Vert Best Trick. He has also won the Gravity Games *, and in September, 2003 finished second at the XBox World Championships of Skateboarding.

Admission to watch PLG at Rye Airfield is free, session passes to ride from 6pm-9pm are $12.

Rye Airfield bills itself as "New England *'s Premier Skate Park", and is located less than one hour north of Boston *, Massachussets.

Osiris shoes is based in San Diego, California * and sponsors riders including Jerry Hsu *, Ali Boulala *, Diego Bucchieri *, Louie Barletta *, PLG, Kanten Russell, and Brandon Turner *.
