In an ongoing effort to promote and support female skateboarders, Skatewave * is sponsoring the Girl's Street Contest at the National Skatepark Expo *. Skatewave claims to be "the nation's leading builder of modular skatepark systems", and the Expo will be held at the San Diego * Convention Center Jan. 28 -29.
Said Lyn-Z Adams *, a Skatewave rider and a skater who demoed at the 2002 * X-Games *,
"Skatewave understands that skateboarding is for everyone, and is committed to providing opportunities for females to have access to the sport. They get it." Lyn-Z will be competing in the event.
Registration is free and the contest will be held Jan. 28 from 6-7 p.m. at the Park Course in the San Diego Convention Center during the National Skatepark Expo also taking place at the same location. Riders can pre-register on site from 2:30-4 p.m. Jan. 28 or contact the Premise Intelligence Agency for a registration form.
