Logic Skateboard Media To Try New Approach
(Posted 12/28/2002)

(By Josh Rabinowitz for SkateboardDirectory.com)

Logic Skateboard Media of Long Beach, California * says they are throwing the traditional trick-based skate video format out of the window. Apparently their videos will no longer be numbered and will follow "schemed, plot-driven titles" with storylines that serve as a common threads between the skater's parts. The videos will be shot in a combination of 16mm film and video.

Matt Soloman of "Land Pirates" and Hot Rod Skateshop is said to be succeeding Mike Range as Logic's Director.

Their next issue, which for those who prefer to be ordinal would have been numbered Logic 13, is entitled "Death of A Video Magazine" and is said to consist of "skating, isolated skate spots, and the two unknown special guests (who) will add some flavor for you to savor as they precap and recap all of the parts."

Featured skaters in this issue are said to include Supernaut Am Nick Matlin, Natural Koncepts Am Bobby Rodriguez, Zoo York * Am Adam Graham, Seek Pro Rob Dyrdek *, Think Pro Jake Nunn *, and Alien Workshop * Pro Anthony Van Engelen *. Also purportedly included are a Western Edition trip to London * featuring Brad Johnson, Pat Washington *, and Nikhil Thayer *, and a Ghetto Child * journey including Victor Fonosch, Jeremy Holmes, Jeremiah Vance, Spanky, and Anthony Mosely *. "Death of A Video Magazine" is set to be released January 2003 *.

Logic Skateboard Media * noted that they also been working on another project with Rise Entertainment entitled "American Misfits," apparently in a bid to join the fray of reality-slapstick entertainment with a "fun video for everyone out there who enjoys laughing nonstop". Featuring Laban Pheidas and Jason "Wee Man" Acuna *, the production is purported to be "full of scandalous acts, sin, skits, suprise attacks, and also some skateboarding on the side." Logic's description continues by promoting American Misfits as "skateboarding combined with stupidity".
