Chad Muska * is already internationally known for his street skating. Soon he may become a household name in the music world as well.
On February 11th, 2003 *, 411 Productions and 1212 records will begin selling CDs of Chad Muska's new project MuskaBeatz *. Chad's album features Muska with a high-powered assemblage of hop-hop heavyweights including Flavor Flav of Public Enemy, KRS-One, Biz Markie, Afrika Bambaataa, Ice-T, MC Lyte, Guru, and others. The recording will initially only be for sale in skateboard shops.
In development for several years, the album was largely recorded in New York *'s Soho Grand Hotel in a mobile hotel-room studio built by Chad and 1212's Dave Roen.
The MuskaBeatz tracks "I'm a Star" (featuring Grandmaster Melle Mel), "Versus of Doom" (featuring Jeru the Damaja) , and "Bodyrock" (featuring Biz Markie) can currently be heard on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater * 4 videogame from Activision *.
Chad has proven to be one of the most well-known and originally-styled skaters of his time, and attributes some of his skateboard inspiration to the influences of music and culture. The release of MuskaBeatz seems likely to help him to continue to imprint his influence on them in return.
