Human Desire National School Skate Series
Many would agree... it's not every day in a kid's life that Skate Ramps, a World Class Pro Skateboarder, Live Band, Workshop & Comp is dumped smack bang in the middle of the school gym, but for a bag full of "seriously privileged" Schools recently, it was reality!
Yes the 4th Annual Human Desire National Schools Skateboarding Series hit "30 Schools" Nationally and the guys at Peninsula Events say they've been nothing short of blown away by the enthusiasm & appreciation shown by all of the schools involved. Paul Harvey (from P.E.A.) added "Although I'm totally exhausted, it's been a total blast being part of such a unique series. You know...so many kids (especially the chicks) have said to me that bringing the workshops & comp to their school was what gave them the courage to either give skating a go or keep pursuing their interest further and for me..... that's what it's all about".
For those 2 or 3 of you who weren't able to attend...... each event consisted of a few hours Practice, a Morning Workshop (hosted by James Kennedy in MEL, Mike Vine in NSW & Trent Bonham up in QLD) a Lunchtime Comp, followed by a live performance from "Noogie". Hailing from Sydney's Northern Suburbs, this wicked four piece set became an "Aussie" International success, when they nabbed a deal with American Label Trauma Records last year (former home of no doubt & bush). Lead Singer Nick Hyde said "Taking part in the Human Desire Series has been a wicked experience for all of us and if all goes well, we hope to be doing a lot more gigs with P.E.A. Peninsula Events Australia * would like to take this opportunity to thank the following sponsors - Including; Human Skate Shoes, Tony Hawk * Clothing, Jansport Backpacks, Noogie, Freestyle * Watches, Triple J, Pox Hand Held Computer Games, City Beach Skate/Surf Shops QLD, Slam Skateboarding Magazine & Kore T.V, who all helped make this "FREE SERIES" possible for all of the schools involved.
