Hawk's Skatepark Tour Televised Beginning July 29th, 2002

(Provided by PR Firm)Houston's stop on the Tony Hawk * Gigantic Skatepark * Tour (from June 23) Will be Featured on ESPN2 * on Monday at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time

The third annual Tony Hawk Gigantic Skatepark Tour concluded on Friday, July 26, in Encinitas, Calif., fans across the country will be able to relive the excitement from the Tour's 10-city stop beginning on Monday on ESPN2.

Monday, July 29 kicks off eight original hours of programming from the Tour, and commences with the Houston * coverage, which was the first stop on the Tour. The event in Houston was at the Southside Skatepark on June 23.

For its third consecutive year, ESPN and world-class skateboarder Tony Hawk * joined forces to produce the Tony Hawk Gigantic Skatepark Tour that traveled to 10 skateparks * across the country for demonstrations and stops along the way.

The Tour made its way across the US in a tour bus and included (in addition to Hawk) professional skateboarders Bucky Lasek *, Eric Koston *, Mike Vallely *, Shaun White, Alex Chalmers *, Kerry Getz * and Jesse Fritsch *; and, BMX riders Dave Mirra *, Mike "Rooftop" Escamilla and Rick Thorne. Additional guest athletes joined the group throughout the trip.

In addition to the original programming dates, re-airs will run through the end of 2002 *. All shows will be aired on ESPN2. The re-air schedule can be found on EXPN *.com.
