The Sports industry at large is beginning to see that Extreme Sports are going to become an increasingly important part of the Sports as covered by mainstream sports media outlets.
"What you see with these sports is they continue to become part of our culture," Ron Semiao, vice president, programming and
managing director of the Global X Games, said Friday during a panel discussion at the annual convention of the Associated Press
Sports Editors.
"The future of what we all do rests with our youth," he said. "We need to get in touch with youth culture."
"We have to try to get nontraditional readers," said Ron Judd, the outdoors and Olympics columnist for The Seattle * Times.
