REDONDO BEACH, CA. -Product man and skater, Felix Ojeda
III was at a crossroads in life. Having been a victim of Hollywood *'s "use
them, then lose them" machine, he faced the decision: to continue
working for the movie industry, or to start his own business.
Felix had experience in topics inluding film model making, digital effects,
and graphic design for the World X Game's street luge champs, team
Dreggs. Felix had also done graphic design on skateboards for Madrid
and Dregg's old school icon, Brad Strundland.
Having 3 skaters in the family, Felix saw a niche for a product which
would allow skaters to go faster and skate safer, while reducing the
damage to the skating surface and skateboard trucks *. Mr. Ojeda made the decision to go down a new path and market Truck Sliders(tm).
While working on a film, Felix collaborated after hours with model
makers to make prototypes, which were then field tested in Southern California * for more than a
year.
Two series of design changes were made as a result, then the CAD
drawings were finalized and U.S. Patents were applied for.
Mr Ojeda explains that he found ISO
9001 Certified plastic injection molding company located in Mishawaka,
Indiana * to construct the sliders from new, durable and flexible
plastic.
According to Lozin *, the benefits of Truck Sliders include:
* Protecting trucks from wear, and allowing worn trucks to continue "grinding".
* Allowing the skater to perform grinds on surfaces
that were previously difficult.
* Allowing for a faster learning curve, and increasing safety by letting a
skater glide ride more easily over gaps on the skating surfaces.
* Reduction of the damage caused to the
skating surfaces.
* As truck sliders are removable, skaters can quickly decide when and
where to use them.
According to Lozin, reduction of damage to skate surfaces is an important concern. Lozin says their Truck Sliders can allow the skater to
grind faster and smoother and still have the "feel".
Lozin Truck Sliders are designed for six brands of skateboard trucks and are available in a
variety of colors.
