Winter’s already on the way, but things just keep getting hotter at AERA. The team is on a wave of mutilation—tearing it up wherever they go, and, begging for more. Dayne Brummet * is currently wrecking shop in Brazil * after a 5th place performance at the INVERT 2001 * contest a few weeks back in Irvine, CA. Before he split on his latest mission, he was out scouting ugly rails with TransWorld *’s Grant Brittain *. Look for an in-depth interview in the forthcoming issue of Heckler *. If you missed Dayne’s AERA ad in the new TransWorld of a 10-step frontside noseslide, act like you know. If that’s not enough Dirty Dayne, has also been working on a Heads feature for Thrasher *. Check it out. And who’s not hyped on Rodney Jones *? He just blasted back east to his hometown of Baltimore, MD for a contest at Charm City Park. Rodney’s runs garnered him a suspicious eighth place finish, but out of obvious respect and conscience, the winner, a Zoo York * kid split $1000.00 prize money with Rodney.

What do the judges ever know? The mags are after Jones too, he’s been on the road with Thrasher photo ace Luke Ogden and on some other trip-out with Pete Thompson—bases covered. His first AERA ad in TransWorld hits the newsstands 01/01. In addition, the follow-cam has been on his heels: Look for upcoming video parts in 411 and Interstate Video Mag. When he’s not chasing the dream, he’s chasing the thick-ladies around his local stomping grounds of Ocean Beach, CA.

Matt Dove * can’t seem to get enough of the Volcom * vert facility, where he’s been hard at work on the so-far elusive tail grab 900. With a skate-ethic like Matt’s, it won’t be long…. He’s rolling a new Mitsubishi Montero, thanks to an unreal show of vert mastery at the summer X-Games *, best trick indeed. He’s also rolling on a new signature wheel on Aurora Wheels * along with, Jonas Wray *, and Anthony Carney *. Look for Doves’ new AERA ad in the new TWS, too.

Two-wheel terror, JD Heino is on an ass-kicking spree that won’t let up. He’s been filming for the upcoming FBM Bikes video, and recently, AERA teamed up with 2-Hip Bikes for an event. Even after an odd night in jail, JD ripped . His next stop—The Burning Bike contest in Austin * Texas *, and he’s on fire!
